My family represents generations of horsemen, including my great-grandfather who was a jockey, my grandfather who was a trainer, and an uncle, and cousin who continue to train. I've had a passion for horses and horse racing my entire life and decided to resign a commission in the Army to pursue my dream.
In 2012, I joined the Dale Romans Racing Team.
I recognized this opportunity as a chance to work with Graded Stakes winners while continuing to sharpen my horsemanship skills. In my five years on the Romans team I had the distinct pleasure to work with graded stakes winners such as Keen Ice, Molly Morgan, Go Maggie Go, Keen Pauline, J Boys Echo, Brody’s Cause, Not This Time, Guys Reward, O Prado Ole, Pick of the Litter, Free Drop Billy, Engaginglee and Silver Max. MISSION
Our mission, at Simms Jr. Racing Stables, is to provide each horse with a first class training and feeding program that is tailored to their specific needs.
METHODS
We train horses as individuals. We listen to them and let them tell us when they are ready to move on. We pride ourselves on candid and constant communication with our owners.
TRAINING
Develop training plans to suit horses on an individual basis. Specializing on the development of young horses.
